Becoming an Electrician means having to do an electrical apprenticeship. To become a certified electrician you will need to attend various
electricians courses, untill you do your
electrical journeyman test. The good news for residents of the Lowveld is that they no longer need to travel vast distances to do their
trade test. Lira Electrical has opened an
electrical trade test centre in Nelspruit.
You can do your electrical Journeyman test at Lira Trade test centre
An
electrical journeyman has completed his test at a trade test centre after an
electrical apprenticeship. An
electrical apprenticeship usually means working under the supervision of an
electrical journeyman and attending
electricians courses over a period of 2 - 3 years. Once completing the training the
electrical apprentice will write an
electrical trade test. When he passes the test he will be an
electrical journeyman.
Handyman and electricians courses
Training to become a handyman is available at the Lira trade test centre.
Electrical programs and
electricians courses are on the syllabus as well.
Electricians training is done in the classroom situation where apprentices learn how to use
electrical testing equipment, wiring, connections and
electrical safety training.
Being a Certified electrician is a great career choice
Many of todays youth do not wish to work with their hands and spend time studying for degrees. Many of these people are unemployed. A good electrical journeyman will not be seen in the unemployment line as the
commercial electrical contractor is very sought after.
