I was pointed at some sites in the UK, notably the Daily Mail where it seems the freedoms of photographers are being eroded in the UK. You can be arrested under section 44 of the terrorism act for taking photos of buildings. This is crazy. Tourists go to London to take pictures of buildings. An Australian was arrested and forced to delete his holiday snaps by a police officer in London. It seems they are eager to take your money but not allow you to take pics home to show your friends.
In 9 years of taking photos in Mpumalanga I was only once told that I could not take photos in a public place. That was when I was getting crap service from a municipal official and I took her picture. I had a major argument with the security guard and suggested he called the police if he even wanted to touch my camera. He declined, I still have the images. In the UK I'd have had the special branch on my back in minutes.
Here in Mpumalanga we welcome tourists, especially those with cameras. We have people that will take you to awesome places to take photos, Heck you can even walk around town taking photos, but I would suggest being part of a group in some areas. You can take pictures like these here. I am sure you would agree it's a lot more interesting than some old building in a city where you are going to get hassled.
It's easy buy a plane ticket to Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport, Book a room at one of the venues on this site, get a car from one of the hire companies, your hosts will give you all the info you need or even introduce you to a guide. Call me and I will assist in any way I can. I'll even go and take photos with you.
